Mickey Rourke Looked Him Up and Down and Said No
Actor, stunt coordinator, former cop, and firefighter, technical advisor, and now one of Instagram's funniest creators.
Jason Benjamin is a kid from Kingston, Tennessee with no industry connections who ended up on set with Denzel Washington, Colin Firth, Kevin Bacon, and Mickey Rourke.
Jason and Michael go back 20-some-odd years. In this episode he tells the stories: the flashover they filmed for America's Bravest (Michael in shorts and sandals), smack-talking Don Cheadle and Bruce Greenwood over a chess game on the set of Robert Zemeckis's Flight, watching Colin Firth stop production to explain a scene to a background extra, and the day Mickey Rourke looked him up and down and said “no.”
Plus what Hollywood gets wrong about firefighters and cops, how a show gets developed, and how one video shot on his phone turned into 17.3 million views in 30 days as the out-of-shape hiker.
